Several oil exploration workers, a subsidiary of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation and members of Civilian JTF have been feared killed and many missing in a renewed attack carried out Boko Haram members.
The victims were ambushed around Jibi village situated between Magumeri and Gubio Local Government Areas of Borno State on Tuesday.
Residents said the several oil workers were killed and many abducted in the attack, which occurred on Tuesday afternoon.
Vanguard quoted a source as saying that top officials sent for oil exploration in the lake chad basin, security operatives including members of civilian JTF sent for security cover were among the victims.
At the moment, the Officer in Charge of Magumeri/ Gubio Military has not spoken on the attack but sources said those injured have been rushed to undisclosed hospitals in the state.
