The Osun State Government has expressed its condolence on the death of the wife of Chief Bisi Akande, the former governor of the state, Mrs Omowumi Akande who died on Tuesday.
The Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Adelani Baderinwa on Wednesday said Mrs Akande died at a private hospital after slight illness in Ibadan. He said the news of Mrs. Akande's death was shocking and sudden.
He described Mrs Akande as hardworking, a true and quintessential mother, an enterprising woman, a loving wife and caring person to all and sundry.
Baderinwa said Mrs Akande was a loyal supporter of her husband, very warm to her husband's political guests and very accommodating.
"Mama was a wonderful woman who will be missed by many who know her. The government and people of Osun commiserate with Chief Bisi Akande and the family at large. We pray to God to accept her soul and rest her in peace", he said.
The commissioner prayed to God to give Akande and the family the strength to bear the loss of their lovely wife and mother.
