According to The Sun UK, scientists have claimed that big bums can make women healthier.
A bulky backside is much healthier than a spilling-over stomach and can even help combat heart disease and high cholesterol, research has shown.
While abdominal fat is associated with increasing blood pressure and type 2 diabetes scientists have said lower body fat has protective qualities.
A study of 27,000 people established a connection between larger hip circumference and a lower risk of heart attack and heart disease.
This is believed to be because 'adipose tissue' - found in the backside -catches harmful fatty particles - preventing them making their way to the heart.
Boffins at Oxford Univeristy said people with a podgy posterior can have lower cholesterol and that a larger rear can help prevent more-dangerous stomach fat.
This is because women with the body trait produce more of the hormone that processes sugar and regulates weight.
The study, which appeared in the International Journal of Obesity, compared different weight distributions.
Lead researcher Konstantinos Manolopoulos said: "Fat around the hips and thighs is good for you but around the tummy is bad."
