According to earlier reports, it has been hinted that WhatsApp could be considering adding a voicemail feature to its service. Now thanks to the folks at Android Central who have managed to get their hands on the latest version of the beta for WhatsApp, it looks like the rumors were true after all.
As you can see in the screenshot above, it seems that users will be given the option of leaving a voicemail when calling other WhatsApp users. It's a bit odd because these days with instant messengers being so prevalent, it's much simpler to leave a message informing them that you called rather than leave a voicemail which needs to be retrieved.
However we suppose there are some users who might prefer voicemail, so we guess the feature is there if you want it. Another new feature spotted in the beta is a new font. To be more specific, this feature basically clears any formatting in the message you're about to send, so while it does produce a new look, we guess it isn't exactly a new font per se.
Unfortunately as is the case with most betas, what you see might not necessarily be what you get in the final build, which for now we are unsure when it will be released, but we'll keep our eyes peeled all the same.
