Rivers Police foils attempt by militants to blow up pipeline

The Rivers State Police Command says it has foiled an attempt by militants to blow up an oil pipeline in the state.
This was contained in a statement obtained by DAILY POST and signed by the Command's Public Relations Officer, DSP Nnamdi Omoni.

He said the explosive was produced with a large mass of dynamite and other dangerous accessories.

The police spokesman, however, said the explosive had been deactivated and evacuated, adding that the state was no longer safe for criminals.

According to the statement, "The Rivers State Police Command has continued to record outstanding successes in crime fighting across the length and breadth of the state.
