Chelsea Rowe was driving on the wrong side of the road when she knocked PC Paul Briggs off his motorbike as he was riding to work.
Rowe, 26, has been jailed for a year after causing the catastrophic accident near the Birkenhead Tunnel in Merseyside last July.
The accident has left the dad needing round the clock care and his family suffering the torture of watching him battle for survival every day. But Chelsea says it was a mistake and she is sorry for it. Photo of the police officer after the cut.
