Nigerian Afro pop singer, Imelda Ada Okwori, popularly known as Imelda J, who has been allegedly romantically linked with singer, D'Banj, has reacted to artist's alleged marriage.
As the news of the alleged marriage between DBanj and his half caste lover, Didi Kilglow continues to make the rounds, Imelda J says she is not threatened.
Recall that last week, news made the rounds on the social media of a secret registry wedding between the Kokomaster and his alleged half caste lover, 24-year-old undergraduate of the University of Abuja.
Although DBanj had denied rumours of his alleged marriage, saying it was a mere figment of the reporter's imagination, Imelda J is of the opinion that if the story was true, she would not have been bothered, insisting she knows where she belongs in D'Banj's life.
In an exclusive interview with DAILY POST, the singer whose cover of DBanj's 'Emergency' brought her to limelight, said, "I don't feel threatened by the rumors. I know myself and Bangalee (DBanj) knows himself too. We all know our stands. But for now, I will reserve my comment until the coast gets clearer for everyone to see. No shaking at all."
Asked if that was a way of confirming she had been romantically linked with the 'Why Me' crooner, Imelda said, "I wish to keep my personal life private. That's why it is personal."
Our reporter further asked the Benue-born songster if she felt bad that he didn't mention to her he was going to get married (if the report were true), she laughed saying, "I know exactly what is happening. Let me be calm for now.
"Bangalee is a very playful person. He plays with people's intelligence. Until you are close to him, you won't know when he is truly serious. So don't get deceived most times by what he says and what he does. You need to be very smart to catch up with him.
"I really don't wish to talk about anything as regards that for now. But I promise to tell you few things later."
Asked if in essense she was also refuting the marriage rumours, she said, "You really want to hear the koko from me. Wait for the Kokomaster. When he is done teasing the world, he will tell you the koko.
"Like I said earlier, you already know the answer. But then, marriage or no marriage, does it really matter to me? It doesn't matter to me at all. I am not threatened. Personally, if it were to be true, why would I feel bad? Not at all. Does that change anything?"
